Dharti Rana is a student supported by The AWARE Foundation since 2013, when she was a grade X student and just recently, in 2020, she completed her M. A. with Hindi major with a Gold medal!

All along the path, AWARE has been with her and will continue to be so whilst she is now pursuing her Bachelor's degree in education.  She is a hard-working student and follows every instruction of her teachers and mentors.

The motivational force, however, according to her, have been her parents. Dharti is the first in her family to cross the doors of a college. Her father labours for a gas company, delivering domestic cooking gas cylinders in the small town of Khambhat. Her mother is a home-maker. Dharti has a dream of doing a Ph. D. after her B. Ed.

Her favourite Hindi author is Munshi Premchand and "Nirmala" and "Godan" are her favourite works!  Her idol is Swami Vivekanand, whose words, "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached" have always inspired her.

A huge congratulations to Dharti - her hard work and perservenrance has really paid off, we are so very proud of her.
